Smart Blinds

 

Description:  Blinds are used to cover windows of the home. The blinds on the outer most windows of the home help to control the visibility, temperature (due to UV rays) inside home. Blinds when closed do not allow outsider to peep inside, thus help avoid security breach.

 

Feature:

  • Use two servo motor s to open/close and to tilt (up/down) the slats of blind
  • Use light and temperature sensor to report visibility and temperature inside home.
  • Currently human intervention is needed to preform operation on blinds.
Use Cases

The user should issue a command to open the Smart Blinds and these will open. A similar operation should take place in the case of a close request. The Smart Blinds should also respond to "environmental settings" for example if the resident indicates: "Going to sleep" a series of actions should be performed like turning the light off and closing the Smart Blinds. The Smart Blinds should partake in these composed actions.
